The Zamboanga Normal School was built during the American Colonial Period and completed in 1921. Normal Schools were founded by the Americans to improve the state of education not only in Zamboanga but in the entire Philippines. The Zamboanga Normal School (as an institution) was established in 1904 and intended to train teachers.
