Fort Pilar is one of the oldest and beautiful fortresses in the Philippines built in 1635 during the Spanish Colonial Period. Currently, it is considered and recognized as a National Cultural Treasure by virtue of the Presidential Decree No. 260 and up to this date, the Fort is still subject for restoration and rehabilitation.
